As for the NEWWORLD IGA Ba Women, they suffered their fifth consecutive loss at the hands of Namosi, who now lead the Subrails Marama Championship with five bonus-point wins from five.
The bright point for Ba is that they scored another six tries in their 34-51 defeat at the Uprising Ground.
BRU Secretary Gaby Kautoga noted that scoring tries doesn’t seem to be a problem for the Ba Women, it’s the defence which is below the standard needed at this level.
“The Ba Women are averaging more than 30 points a game which is great; unfortunately they are shipping more than 40 points at the wrong end.”
“The spirit remains high in the team despite the defeats. It’s their first-time in the Marama so they will improve as they gain more experience.”
All three of the Ba teams face Nadroga at Lawaqa Park today with the kick-offs at 11am (Women), 1pm (U20s) and 3pm (Men’s).
