A heavy rain warning previously in force for Viti Levu, Kabara and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups has been cancelled.
The national weather forecasting centre in Nadi confirmed that this morning.
But it said a trough of low pressure system with the associated clouds and showers was expected to affect the Fiji group until later today.
For the rest of the country, the weatherman has forecast some showers and isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms, and likely isolated heavy falls.
The weatherman also warned of localised heavy falls that may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas.
The same weather situation is forecast for midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group.
