FIJI’S Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete has commended the Coral Coast Carnival 2019 for its theme of wellness and health, particularly as the region grapples against non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Speaking at the carnival in Sigatoka, Dr Waqainabete reiterated the ministry’s commitment to such efforts and urged all Fijians to pursue healthy lifestyles.
“Organisers have also shown interest in using the funds generated to assist in upgrading some of the old facilities at the Sigatoka Hospital, as well as the Koromumu Cemetery and for that, I’m thankful for their foresight,” he said.
The week-long carnival is themed ‘Let’s harvest wellness spiritually, physically and mentally’.
