Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) workers who are members of National Union of Workers – Fiji have a secret ballot for industrial action last week.
This was done at WAF depots at Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Sigatoka, Navua, Wailoku, Navua, Navakai, Samabula, Labasa, Kinoya, Rewa and WAF head-office.
“The reason for this Ballot is the Employer’s (WAF) failure to negotiate and conclude an agreement on the Union’s 2024 log of Claims for all members,” said the union.
“At the end of the 3-day balloting process, we received positive results, a firm mandate for next course of action.”
National Union of Workers – Fiji said this was a powerful display of unity and solidarity amongst the members.
