The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is urging Fijians to limit water use to essential purposes as the dry season continues across the country.
In a public notice, the Authority called on households and businesses to conserve water and avoid unnecessary consumption, particularly during periods of peak demand.
WAF is advising customers to refrain from washing vehicles, watering gardens and filling swimming pools during peak demand periods.
Residents are also being encouraged to regularly check their properties for leaks and report any visible water leaks immediately.
The Authority says simple measures such as taking shorter showers, turning off taps when not in use and adopting water-efficient practices at home and in workplaces can help reduce consumption.
“Every litre saved helps maintain a reliable water supply for communities across Fiji, especially during periods of prolonged dry weather,” WAF said.
The Authority stressed that responsible water use is important to ensuring sufficient supplies remain available for essential household and business needs.
WAF is calling on all customers to play their part in conserving water as dry weather conditions continue.
