THE ninth Tui Vuda will be decided at Viseisei village in Vuda today.
The title was left vacant by the late Ratu Eparama Kitione Tavaiqia who was laid to rest by the Vanua of Vuda yesterday.
The final rights were accorded by the Yavusa Tububere led by Taukei Sawaieke Iliesa Cebaivalu Namuira.
Mr Namuira said while the people of Vuda had been preparing for the final rights for the late Tui Vuda yesterday, they were also looking forward to today when their chief is appointed by the kingmakers or Sauturaga, Yavusa Nakelo.
“It is a new chapter for the Vanua of Vuda,” he said.
“It is not an easy take and one that it is a very important decision to make.
“Because it means a new path, a new chapter and a new leadership for the Vanua of Vuda.
“But that is all in the hands of the Taukei Nakelo and his people to decide.
“So we all look towards their decision and to this new beginning.”
