A FAMILY is mourning the loss of its sole breadwinner after 40-year-old Kishan Nadan died in a motor vehicle accident near the Vuda bypass last Friday.
Mr Nadan was travelling in a private vehicle when the driver allegedly lost control, causing it to veer into a drain.
Mr Nadan was reportedly thrown from the vehicle and landed in the drain.
Speaking to The Fiji Times at the family’s home in Saweni, Lautoka, yesterday, his wife, Sheetal Shivangni, said the family learnt of his death after she received a phone call at about 11am.
Ms Shivangni said the family was devastated by the loss, as her husband was responsible for supporting their children and his elderly mother.
A family friend described Mr Nadan as a kind-hearted person, recalling that they often went fishing together.
Mr Nadan will be buried on Wednesday.
He is survived by his wife and three children — two daughters, aged 13 and 11, and a seven-year-old son.
Police investigations into the accident continue.
