The trial of a Sigatoka couple charged with the murder of an 18-year-old student will commence on November 3.
Mohammed Naushad and Nazreen Nisha Khan are charged with murder while Mr Naushad faces an additional count of criminal intimidation.
It’s alleged the couple forced the victim to ingest a chemical in a house at Maro in Sigatoka on June 30 three years ago.
Mr Naushad and Ms Khan were represented by Samuela Heritage of Iqbal Khan and Associates; Laisiasa Baleilevuka represented the State.
The trial was initially vacated because the defence counsel in carriage needed time to recover from eye surgery.
Mr Heritage said the defence did not have any pending issues to address before the trial.
Mr Baleilevuka said the officer in charge had requested another date, and that the State had no pretrial issues. Justice Hamza adjourned the matter for the trial proper.
