Flying Fijians and former national 7s rep Semi Kunatani has started a COVID-19 campaign to help Fijians fight against this global disease that has claimed millions of lives.
The renowned rugby player, popular for his hand sign, #PAAK, has also affirmed all Fijians that together we can conquer this pandemic.
The campaign is in partnership with Labasa’s non-governmental organisation Northern Charity Alliance and was confirmed yesterday with the group’s program officer Tevita Tokalauvere.
The campaign includes the five basic rules of ‘stay home, two metres apart, wash hands, vaccinate and mask up #PAAK’.
Kunatani said they were targeting everyone especially children who usually spent a lot of time with friends and during this school break.
“Let’s drink a lot of water too during this time because I for one, I believe water is the most powerful medicine and that has been my medicine on and off the rugby field,” he said.
“Fiji, together we can conquer this pandemic so stay home, two metres apart, wash hands, vaccinate, mask up #PAAK.”
He has also encouraged all Fijians to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 advice and support police in their work of preventing the spread of COVID-19.
In thanking Kunatani for his great assistance, Tokalauvere said they wanted to help with the fight against COVID-19 especially in Vanua Levu where no COIVD-19 case has surfaced.
“Our NCA focuses on education, health, housing, poverty alleviation and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) so this campaign comes under our health program,” he said.
“We will use all modes to promote this campaign including the various social media platforms and promotional programs will follow,” he said.
