NOTHING beats quality and variety, says shopper Luisa Mateiyalona, who has made NewWorld Supermarket her one-stop shop for both her household and extended family needs.
Originally from Kadavu, Mateiyalona has built a routine shopping at NewWorld.
She describes the supermarket as a place where she feels comfortable and confident in the products she buys.
According to her, the wide range of goods available makes it unnecessary to visit multiple stores.
“We always come and do our shopping here at NewWorld, Greig St, Suva because they have a variety, when it comes to options,” she said.
“Their customer service is good, and I also feel comfortable coming to shop here.”
Her shopping is not only for her immediate family but also for relatives in Moala, Lau, where her family operates a small village shop.
“For our family that lives in the village, they always want to choose the best,” she explained.
“We don’t have to look anywhere else because NewWorld Supermarket has everything we need.”
Mateiyalona typically spends around $400 during major shopping trips, ensuring she gets the best value for a wide range of goods.
In her day-to-day life in Narere, Mateiyalona typically spends about $200 a week on groceries and household items.
“The prices are reasonable, especially for a family,” she noted.
She prefers shopping at the NewWorld branch nearby because of its convenience.
Being close to home saves her time and reduces transport costs, making her routine more efficient.
Occasionally, when she travels to Suva for other errands, she takes the opportunity to shop at the NewWorld there as well, appreciating the same consistency in quality and service.
“I can buy groceries, cleaning products, and other essentials all in one place without going over budget.
Convenience is another key factor in her choice. “We mostly do our shopping in NewWorld Narere because it’s close to our home.
“It saves me time and transport costs, and everything I need is easily accessible.” She added that trips to Suva also provide an opportunity to shop at NewWorld’s larger outlet.
“We had other things to buy in Suva, so we came and did our shopping at NewWorld, Suva.
Beyond price and convenience, Mateiyalona emphasised the importance of making informed choices while shopping.
“It’s very important to check expiry dates before buying anything.
“I also take time to read nutritional information on labels. You need to know what you’re putting into your body and what you’re feeding your family.
She believes that paying attention to product details leads to better health decisions.
“Sometimes products look good on the outside, but the information on the label tells a different story. Checking those details really matters.”
She also praised the shopping environment, describing it as clean, spacious, and welcoming.
“I really enjoy how clean the supermarket is,” she said. “It’s very spacious, so you don’t feel crowded, even when there are a lot of people shopping.
In closing, Mateiyalona encouraged others to make thoughtful shopping choices.
“My message to the public is choose the best and shop at places that offer quality goods,” she said.
