MOVING to a new country means adapting to a new way of life, and for newly appointed Fiji Pearls head coach Michelle Parsons, that journey has included finding a supermarket that feels like home.
Having recently relocated from Conifer Grove in Auckland, New Zealand, Michelle says she was searching for a shopping experience similar to what she enjoyed back home.
She found just that during her first visit to Extra Supermarket in Suva.
“I normally shop at Woolworths or New World in New Zealand, so I have been looking for a similar experience here in Suva,” Michelle said.
“I really enjoyed the wide aisles, the easy-to-navigate layout and the range of brands available.”A passionate advocate for healthy living, Michelle says nutrition plays an important role in her busy lifestyle, and she was impressed by Extra’s selection of fresh produce, gluten-free products and sports nutrition.
“There were some fantastic deals on fresh food and pantry staples,” she said.
“It was also great to see a dedicated gluten-free section and products that support an active lifestyle, including sports nutrition and recovery options.
“Although she admits she was surprised by the price of some groceries compared with New Zealand, Michelle says smart shopping and taking advantage of weekly specials make a real difference. Her advice to shoppers is simple.
“Look for the deals highlighted on the shelves because the savings are really worthwhile.”
