REWA Football Club assistant coach Priyant Mannu believes only the fittest team will survive as they prepare for the highly anticipated 2025 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC).

The Delta Tigers have shown promise by reaching the finals of the Fiji Fact and Battle of the Giants tournaments this year, and they are optimistic about their performance in the upcoming IDC. Mannu acknowledges the challenge of being in a pool with the top teams, including hosts Ba.

“I think it’s a good pool, all the top eight teams are in it, and being in the same pool against hosts Ba will be a challenge, so we will be preparing well before the competition approaches,” said Mannu.

Despite a lack of recent victories, Mannu highlights that the team will be more focused on the competition ahead.

“The team has had a good season so far especially in the Extra Premier League competition, also we reached two finals, Battle of the Giants and Fiji Fact, so this is the last tournament IDC in Ba, so we will see who we face first and prepare accordingly.

He adds the tournament presents a different challenge as a one-week event, where physical fitness will be crucial for success.

“This is a different tournament compared to Fiji Fact and BOG, this is a one-week tournament, so the fittest team will survive.

Mannu believes in the strength of the squad, consisting of players who have been consistent throughout the season, and is confident in their capabilities on the field.

“We have players that played throughout the season, so we will be having a full strong team in the IDC competition.

“Strong squad of 22 that will last the tournament, and I have full believe in the boys that we will do our best on the field.”

Mannu urges fans to continue supporting the team and believing in their potential, as they aim to deliver a strong performance in the IDC competition.

In the pool draws, Group A features formidable teams like Labasa, Lautoka, Suva, and Nadi, while Group B includes hosts Ba, Extra Premier League champions Rewa, Navua, and the Nadroga Stallions.

The FMF IDC 2025 is scheduled to kick off next Tuesday at the 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba.
