WHILE the impact of cyclones and floods on children could affect their education, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama urged teachers to assist students get the best education possible.
While visiting affected schools on Vanua Levu yesterday, Mr Bainimarama said teachers played a vital role during challenging times.
He also thanked parents during talanoa sessions for supporting their children who returned to school yesterday.
He said affected boarding schools had received food rations.
Mr Bainimarama dropped off school shoes for students of Waibunabuna Primary School and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
At Lekutu Secondary School, the PM said the Australian government would assist with the construction of permanent classrooms.
He said for now temporary classrooms would be built by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces engineers.
