THE Fijian Teachers Association is assuming teachers at the center of unpaid salary reports have now been paid, despite receiving no confirmation from those affected.

FTA’s general secretary Paula Manumanunitoga said the association had received no official complaint from teachers still waiting for their salaries.

“I have not gotten any confirmation from any of those affected. But they are quiet. I believe they have received their pay,” he said.

Mr Manumanunitoga said no teacher had returned to the association to report that they remained unpaid.

“No official complaints have been filed yet about the unpaid salaries.”

As of Monday, 118 of the 134 affected teachers had been confirmed to have received their pay.
