All schools used as evacuation centres in Vanua Levu have been cleared.

Acting Commissioner Northern Uraia  Rainima confirmed that evacuees had been relocated to tents.

“This has been done to allow our military engineers to repair the schools that were damaged by TC Yasa,” Mr Rainima said.

“We also have health officials on the ground to monitor health-related issues and the officials from Water Authority of Fiji to ensure that water supply is safe and constant for our communities.”

Mr Rainima said they would give all schools back to the Ministry of Education before the new school term started.
