Fiji Swimming president Ben Rova says he is happy with the performance of their swimmers that competed at the recent Australian Open and Oceania Swimming Championship last week.

Despite not bagging any medals in the Australian Open, the Fiji Swim team was able to return to the country with 10 medals from the Oceania Championship.

“Looking at all the disruptions we had for our swimming competitions and preparations earlier this year, our swimmers did well at these two events,” Rova said.

“Even though we did win any medals at the Australian Open, we were able to bag a few at the Oceania.

Senior swimmer Hansel McCaig missed out on the Oceania due to educational commitments.

“We still have a few Olympic qualifying tournaments left so we will be preparing for this, and we will be sending our most ‘hopefull’ swimmers for it.”
