THE Suva football side has got itself in hot soup as a 4-2 loss to Lautoka in the Digicel Fiji Premier League yesterday sees them drop to the bottom of the standings.
Suva, which won two of the past three Fiji FACT titles, could miss out on participation this year if they fail to beat Nadi in their round nine match this week.
Lautoka got off the mark early against the whites.
Three goals in the first spell from Sakaraia Naisua and a brace from Sitiveni Cavuilagi saw Lautoka leading 3-1 at the break.
Merril Nand got the lone goal for Suva in the first half.
Dave Radrigai got Suva back in the match, reducing the deficit to 2-3 early in the second spell from the penalty spot.
Muni Shivam Naidu sealed the win for Lautoka with a free kick late in the second spell.
The loss means Suva falls to the bottom of the standings with five points from eight matches.
Lautoka’s win ensured them a spot at the Fiji FACT with one game left to play in the first round.
Meanwhile, in another match played yesterday, goals from Mosese Nabose and Samuela Navasa saw Tailevu Naitasiri record its second win of the season, defeating Nadroga 2-nil.
The win sees T/Naitasiri move out from the bottom two.
