SUVA Sangam College open grade team is determined to build on its Suva Zone Two success when it competes at the Central Rally this week.
Open grade captain Fipe Sorocala, a year thirteen student, said the team had put in the hard work during the lead-up to the tournament and was confident of taking on the top schools.
“We have been preparing throughout the week,” Sorocala said.
The team heads into the competition after claiming the Suva Zone Two title, a result that has boosted the players’ confidence ahead of the Central Rally.
Fipe acknowledged that the standard of competition would be much higher but said the players were looking forward to the challenge.
“We are excited, and we are prepared to face the bigger schools,” she said.
Sorocala said the team had focused on building strong combinations and improving communication during training, which had helped strengthen the players’ understanding of one another.
“We have prepared ourselves well over the past few days, and everyone knows their role within the team.
We are ready to move forward,” she said.
Sorocala believes the team’s preparation and unity will be key as Suva Sangam aims to continue its winning form and challenge for top honours at the Central Rally.
