The Nadroga rugby team had a strong start in the first round of the Skipper Cup competition, securing a solid 36-14 win against Macuata.
As they prepare for their second match against Namosi in the upcoming round, the team recognises there are areas for improvement.
Nadroga head coach Jale Baleirara said we were pleased with the result, we know that there are still areas we need to work on, especially our decision-making on the field and focusing on the basic elements of the game.
“Our fitness also needs work, and we are committed to getting better in this area.
“As we look ahead to our match against Namosi this week, we are aware that it won’t be an easy game.
“We respect the strength of the Namosi team and understand that they will be tough opponents.
“We never underestimate any team in this competition as we know that all teams have come prepared to give their best.”
Baleirara expressed his gratitude for the support received from fans, particularly those who travelled from Vanua Levu to cheer them on.
They are looking forward to a better result than their previous game against Macuata, especially with the advantage of playing on their home ground.
The Namosi U20 match against Nadroga will be at 1pm, while the senior teams will play at 3pm at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka on Saturday.
