Update: 1:51PM A 6.0 MAGNITUDE earthquake was recorded in the Papua New Guinea region at about 1pm today.
The Seismology Unit of the Mineral Resources department said the registered occurred at 12.55pm at a depth of 104km.
The seismic activity was located 77km East from Kimbe, West New Britain, PNG; 239km Southwest from Kait, New Ireland, PNG; and 1092km North-northwest from Honiara, Solomon Islands.
