THE State is relying on DNA evidence in prosecuting a man charged for his alleged involvement in a break-in at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks armoury in Nabua.
Appearing before Justice Daniel Goundar at the High Court in Suva yesterday was Isaia Ledua for a count each of aggravated burglary and damaging property.
The 36-year-old is alleged to have committed the offences with others between April 7 and 9 this year. He is further alleged to have damaged an armoury keypad locker valued at $730.
Prosecutor Simone Seruvatu told the court there was no admission in Mr Ledua’s caution interview and no CCTV footage of the alleged incident, but the State would depend on the DNA evidence.
Mr Ledua was further remanded in custody, with the matter adjourned to June 22 for plea.
