The State has submitted proposed admitted facts to the defence of former Fijian Holdings Ltd Group CEO Nouzab Fareed.

The matter was called yesterday before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili.

Mr Fareed’s presence was excused.

In court yesterday, State lawyer Kimberly Semisi said the matter was called for pre-trial conference.

Ms Semisi also informed the court that the first prosecution witness in the matter was in South Korea.

She told the court the witness was checking on the availability of flights to Fiji and would be able to confirm with the prosecution on her travel arrangements within the week.

Mr Ratuvili also excused Mr Fareed’s appearance on the next mention date.

Mr Fareed is charged with three counts of indecent assault against two female employees of FHL.

The first two counts are related to a complainant who claimed the assaults happened on two separate occasions between June and September, 2019.

The third count is in relation to a second complainant who alleged Mr Fareed indecently assaulted her in May, 2019.

Mr Fareed had his bail extended.

The trial will begin from December 1.

The matter will be called on October 8.
