The country’s effort to enhance its medical sector has been boosted with the recent opening of the Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital in Legalega, Nadi.
Officially opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the multi-million dollar five-storey facility offers surgical services in a broad range of specialities, ranging from general to neurology and cardiology.
The private healthcare facility boasts state-of-the-art theatres for neurology and spine surgery, urology, cardiac surgery, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, angiogram and stenting, private birthing, general outpatient and inpatient surgeries, chemotherapy, pharmacy, pathology, CT and full radiology services, physiotherapy and rehabilitation and Lamaze classes.
The hospital has a branch in Suva’s Foster St and plans are in progress to open a third multi-storey organ transplant and advanced surgical hospital in Toorak, Suva.
“I know that all of us understand that more people are opting to receive medical treatment abroad rather than in their own countries because certain medical services are not available in their own country or countries of residence,” Mr Rabuka said.
“Most people aren’t willing to compromise their health just because the treatment costs are too high. But now all these will be affordable and is now right next door.
“We now have a destination that can offer global standards of care with the technological advancements that is rapidly improving all over the world.”
The investment is the brainchild of Nadi-born pharmacist Parvish Kumar.
