LATISHA Smythe delivered an outstanding performance for the Vodafone Fiji Bulikula against France last Saturday, earning player-of-the-match honours with an impressive contribution.

Smythe recorded 157 metres, made two-line breaks and scored one try to help Fiji in their Rugby League World Cup campaign.

The performance highlighted her attacking ability and contribution to the side as the Bulikula continued to make their mark on the international stage.

Speaking after the match, Smythe said representing Fiji was something she valued deeply.

“It’s a privilege and honour to play for my people,” she said.

Her comments reflected the pride and responsibility that comes with wearing the national jersey, particularly on the international stage.

For Smythe, the recognition was also a moment to celebrate the opportunity to represent her country and contribute to the team’s efforts.

Her performance against France adds to the growing impact of the Bulikula players as they continue to gain experience and compete against established rugby league nations.

Smythe’s individual achievement was a highlight of the match and another reminder of the talent within the Fiji women’s rugby league side.

The side will now shift their focus to a historic clash with the women’s rugby league champions, Australia on Sunday, November 8, 6.45pm at the Allianz stadium in Sydney.
