THE Government Shipping Franchise Scheme schedule for May has been released by the Ministry of Public Works, Meteorological Services and Transport, outlining shipping services to maritime islands.
Under the Government franchise run, MLC Liahona II is scheduled to sail to Kadavu on May 14.
The vessel is expected to call at Dravuni, Buliya, Naqara, Matasawalevu, Nukuvou, Vacalea, Lavidi, Kadavu, Koro, Vukavu, Soso, Dravuwalu, Muani, Levuka and Daviqele.
Meanwhile, MV Ohana will sail to Rotuma on May 18 and is expected to call at O’inafa.
The vessel is also scheduled to service the Lomaiviti group from May 25 to May 27. During the trip, it is expected to visit Qarani, Sawaieke, Nawaikama, Lovu and Nacavanadi in Gau. In Nairai, the vessel is expected at Natauloa, Lawaki and Waitoga, while in Batiki it will call at Nakasava.
For the Upper Southern Lau route, MV Lomaiviti Princess XII is expected to operate in the area from May 26 to May 30.
The vessel is scheduled to visit Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata, Komo, Moce and Namuka-i-Lau.
The MV Lomaiviti Princess VII will service the Northern Lau group from May 27 to May 29, with scheduled visits to Cicia, Tuvuca, Cikobia, Vanuabalavu and Yacata.
For Northeast Vanua Levu, MLC Liahona II is expected to depart Suva on May 28.
During the trip, the vessel is expected to call at Malau, Cawaro, Nukusa, Nukudamu, Nabouono, Vunikodi, Cikobia, Naqelelevu, Rabi, Saqani, Lakeba, Tawake, Wainiika and Yasawa.
The Ministry highlighted that schedules for Yasawa, Beqa, Yanuca, Vatulele, Yasayasa Moala and a second Kadavu trip are yet to be confirmed.
