A man charged with the murder of prominent Nadi physician, Dr Isireli Biumaitotoya, filed a second bail application at the High Court in Lautoka this week.
Ratu Peceli Rosotokaicake Rokoravolo appeared before Justice Sunil Sharma representing himself, while Joeli Nasa represented the State.
The murder is alleged to have occurred between August 31 and September 1 last year. Mr Nasa sought 14 days to respond to the bail application, but Mr Rokoravolo requested that the timeframe be shortened to seven days.
Mr Rokoravolo also requested that his bag of clothes be released as he had been borrowing clothes from inmates. Justice Sharma instructed Mr Rokoravolo to write a list of items he wanted to be returned.
Mr Nasa told the court that the trial would commence on July 6 and that the pretrial checklist would be submitted within seven days.
