SEAQAQA showed their determination to win after coming from a goal down to beat Tavua 3-1 in the FMF Inter-District Championship premier divsion semi-final.
Head coach Mohammed Imran said his players refused to give up despite trailing 1-0 at half-time.
Imran said changes to the games and player positions turn the match around in the second half.
“We changed our game plan, changed some of our positions our boys and as usual, never give up,” Imran said.
Imran said the victory was a reward for the commitment shown by the players, coaching staff and officials throughout the challenging year.
He said reaching the final was a proud moment for Seaqaqa.
Imran also called on supporters from the North and wider Suva area to turn out and back the team in the final.
” It is a proud moment for all the team, and an honor for the people of Seaqaqa and the whole of the North,” he said.
Imran declined to predict the outcome for the final tomorrow, saying the team would assess its opponents before deciding on the best approach.
“We want to win. Any coach wants to win, but we will see which team we are playing in the final and make the right decisions,” he said.
The Kiribati side also booked their place in the final after defeating the Fiji Under-17 side 3-1 in the semi-final.
The side will now shift their focus to the final, where they will face Kiribati 12pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
