School rugby league enters zone quarters

Rugby league fans and enthusiasts will have something to look forward to today when the quarter-finals of the Fiji Secondary School Rugby League Vodafone Trophy in the South Eastern Zone competition get started today.

Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League media officer Lai Corerega is encouraging fans and supporters to come out in numbers to show their support for their respective teams in the competition.

“A few games had been postponed over the past two weeks so fans will have something to look forward to when the quarter-finals get underway tomorrow,” he said.

Corerega confirmed that two under-19 quarter-final matches will be postponed. “Yes, just received some postponement from RSMS Broncos and John Wesley Saints.

“Which greatly impacted two U19 team’s games tomorrow.

“Queen Victoria School U19 is supposed to be playing against JWC Saints, and Ratu Sukuna Memorial School U19 is supposed to be playing Naitasiri Warriors.

“These are two big games, deciders of who will be qualifying to the National Quarters.”

He also mentioned that the dates for the national quarters and semi-finals have already been confirmed.

“It will be a fresh outing for the fans and supporters to be watching their favorite teams play at Nukuvuto Grounds in QVS this Saturday.

“And also at Sila Central High School Grounds. “Yes, the dates nationals are confirmed. “The quarters will be held on April 13, the semis on April 20, and the finals on April 27.”

Two other quarter-final matches in the under-15 grade has also been postponed to next weekend.

This includes the RSMS Broncos and Nasinu Panthers match which was scheduled to be held at the Nukuvuto Grounds at QVS. Fixtures for the Southern Eastern zone tomorrow.

Nukuvuto Ground 2; U15 QVS Knights-Shreedhar Sharks 9.30am, U17 Marist Storm-Sila Tigers 10.30am, U15 Sukuna Broncos-Nasinu Panthers, U17 Vashist Muni Sea Eagles-Lelean Bati 12.40pm, U19 QVS Knights-John Wesley Saints.
