Saints win U15 title

History was made at the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Vodafone Trophy under-15 grand final as Ba Methodist Saints upset QVS Knights 20-6 at Prince Charles Park yesterday.

It marked the first time for the Ba-based school to reach the grand final and defeat one of Fiji’s secondary school rugby league powerhouses.

Ba Methodist High School head coach David Wise, expressed his elation and gratitude for his players’ efforts.

“History has been made. To God be the glory. I must thank God for granting us victory today,” Wise exclaimed.

” It’s a day to be remembered. I’m grateful to the School principal, teachers, parents, Tony Meicavainabula, guardians, Netava Rarokoliwa Tora, Daniel O’Neill and supporters for being supportive and assisting the team throughout our journey,” Wise said.

This victory marks the first time a Western Secondary School team has won the Under 15 grade title.

QVS Knights won the U17 grand final beating Marist Storm 28-22.

In the open girl’s category, Naitasiri Warriors beat Wainimala 22-18.

Meanwhile, in the main U19 final Naitasiri Warriors upset traditional champions Ba Pro 20-18.
