NATIONAL sevens coach Ben Ryan was handed a new vehicle by Carpenters Motors as he leads the country’s hope to drive the team to the gold medal in the Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil next year.
The $70,000 vehicle was given by the sponsors as part of its partnership with the Fiji Rugby Union.
Carpenters Motors national operations manager Alvin Sharma while handing the keys to Ryan said, they were extremely proud of the partnership which began in 2013.
“We are also proud that our vehicles had helped Fiji Rugby Union achieve so many things in developments.
“The vehicles contributed a lot in the Pacific Nations Cup win and to winning the World Sevens Series.
“I hope our relationship with FRU continues to strengthen.”
Ryan said transportation played an important role for the players and the coaching staff.
“The boys and the team from the ground will be thankful for arranging all the things.
“This year is all about running a full program. It is important that we are as mobile as possible.
“The transport is an important part for the movement and it is part of our necessities.”
