The defending champions of the Fiji Secondary School Rugby League Vodafone Trophy, RKS Eels, are optimistic about their upcoming match this weekend.
Captain Paula Gonekalou has expressed confidence in their team’s preparation as they gear up to face the Ra Roosters in the national quarter-finals at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
He adds they are not underestimating their opponents and are determined to defend their title.
“We have been training hard day in and day out, working on our passing skills and defence. I know they won’t be an easy opponent, but I am confident we will be able to defeat them,” said Gonekalou.
“We have mostly new players, with only one player from last year, but we are confident in our abilities and teamwork.”
Gonekalou extended his gratitude to the teachers for their continuous support and is hopeful that their hard work will pay off on Saturday.
The quarter-final match between RKS Eels and Ra Roosters is scheduled for 2.20pm on ground one.
Meanwhile, in other U19 quarter-finals Naitasiri Warriors up against Ba Methodist, Sigatoka Methodist facing Nasinu Panthers, and Ba Pro meeting QVS Knights.
