The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) yesterday remembered the lives of the three soldiers who were killed during the Queen Elizabeth Barracks mutiny in 2000.
Members of the armed forces paid tribute to their three comrades who had paid the ultimate sacrifice in the November 2000 mutiny in a church service followed by the laying of the wreaths.
Officiating the event were the family members of the late Corporal (Cpl) Simione Rawaileba, Private Osea Rokosirinavosa, and Private Temo Raikoro Veilewai, who had lost their lives during the event.
Wife of the late Pte. Veilewai, Liku Veilewai, acknowledged the RFMF for commemorating her late husband.
Mrs Veilewai also thanked the RFMF for always supporting her family after the loss of her husband.
The spouses and children of the fallen loyal soldiers laid a wreath to remember their sacrifice.
