Rewa women’s team demonstrated their dominance in the Digicel Women’s Super League competition by securing an impressive 11-0 victory against Suva in round three, at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Vatuwaqa yesterday.
Three players, Tavaita Tikosuva, Lora Bukalidi, and Adi Litia Bakaniceva, scored hat-tricks in the match, while Tabua Likumotovai and Imeri Nai contributed a goal each.
The team, led by captain Naomi Waqanidrola, maintained its undefeated record and is determined to continue the winning streak in the upcoming matches.
“Really proud of my teammates, despite the scorching sun, they gave their all on the field,” said Waqanidrola.
“Thanks to their unwavering dedication, we achieved a fantastic result, our game plan for the day was clear – to secure a victory against Suva.
She highlighted the importance of sticking to the game plan and adapting to the unfamiliarity of Suva’s playing style.
“Suva side had few new players, but the girls rose to the challenge and delivered the results we aimed for,” she added.
“Looking ahead to our next match against Ba, we know it won’t be easy, however, with our team’s spirit and resilience, I believe we have what it takes to overcome any obstacles.
She thanked the Rewa football team for their support and praised the players and coaches for their dedication and effort.
