DEFENDING champions Rewa will be aiming to retain their title and make their first ever back-to-back Vodafone Fiji FACT victory in front of their home fans this year.

Fiji Football Association in a statement said the recent performance of the team in the Vodafone Premier League has not been at par but a 3-0 win over Tavua in their last match has boosted the morale in the Reds camp.

Fiji FA has confirmed that some of the new names in the team are former Vodafone national under 17 captain Mohammed Naizal, former Fiji national U-20 defender Savenaca Baleidrokadroka, Rewa youth reps Paul Kalouniviti, Ramzan Ali and Abhishek Deo who all have been the regulars for Rewa this season.

Rewa has featured in four finals of the Fiji FACT tournament in which they won two and were runners-up in two.

The Delta Tigers first played in the final was in 2003 when they lost to Navua at home.

Rewa and Nadi featured in last year’s Vodafone Fiji FACT final in which Samuela Kautoga was the hero for the side after he scored the winner in the 32nd with a powerful header just from outside the penalty box.
