The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua side is aware the result against the Western Force this Saturday could shape their future in the Shop n Save Super Rugby season.
This according to the Nadi-based franchise’s head of commercial and marketing Shane Hussein in an interview on Tuesday.
“We are playing the Western Force this weekend and it is a very important game in the make-up of how the rest of the season goes,” he said.
Hussein said although they were on eighth position, they had a good chance to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“The best thing about this position is that we are still in control of our destiny.
“We have two matches at home and two away matches, starting with the Force this weekend.
“The preparation has been going really well and we are excited, and the boys have kept their focus because we know how important this weekend is for us.”
He said there were no injuries in the squad and a similar line-up to that which played against the Brumbies last weekend was expected.
“The coach is looking at players who would put their hands up for selection for this type of match against the Force, which is a very different challenge to the Brumbies.”
Hussein said he was proud of the performance against the Brumbies last weekend which had been Australia’s best team for a while.
“We did not win the match but turned a lot of heads, particularly our scrum dominance.”
The match will be played at the at the HBF Stadium in Perth, Australia and kicks off at 11.55pm.
