Water supply to some affected areas in Suva should have improved, says Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad.

He visited the work site at Savura, Suva yesterday afternoon and has thanked the Water Authority Team for the progressive work so far in repairing the broken pipeline taken down a landslide during the prolonged wet weather experienced this week.

“Obviously Government is very pleased with the way WAF has quickly got onto fixing this major disruptions to the system and I’ve been briefed that one pipe will be activated this afternoon,” he said.

“So some restoration of water is likely to take place.”

WAF’s chief operation officer Seru Soderberg said works carried out at the site is being done to FRA’s standard and safety measures for the sake of the travelling public.
