Resort opens meeting bure

Update: 3:33PM OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort and Spa general manager Peter Hopgood and Outrigger Resorts Asia-Pacific managing director Darren Edmonstone opened the Conua Meeting Bure in Sigatoka today.

The $200,000 building was constructed with funding from guests, the resort and villagers from Nawamagi.

Mr Hopgood also unveiled a brand new computer lab built and equipped with funding from the Newport Beach Rugby Club in Australia.

Outrigger Fiji has assisted the school over the past four years.

Tourism Minister Faiyaz Koya said the resort was a pioneer in voluntourism and was a good example of how the industry could assist development in the community.
