FIJI’S first dedicated alcohol and drugs recovery centre was opened in Suva last week, marking a significant step in the country’s response to substance abuse.
Officially opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, the Salvation Army Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Centre was established in partnership with the Fijian Government and with funding support from New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The facility will operate as a day program with a rolling weekly intake, offering participants a structured recovery program while allowing them to remain connected to their families and communities.
