Melania Ranadi dedicated her win in the senior girls 400 metre final to her grandfather who was celebrating his birthday.

It was really a special moment for her as she brings home a gold medal for her grandfather.

“The race was tough, especially competing against my friend Frances Tuva who now runs for Natabua,” she said.

“I truly enjoyed every moment of it, especially since it’s my last year competing in this event. It’s definitely a memory I’ll cherish forever.

“My parents have always encouraged me to give my best in everything I do, and I really wanted to make them proud with this win,” she added.

“I have big dreams of continuing my journey in athletics to better myself and represent my country with pride.

“A huge shoutout to all my ACS girls, friends, and teachers for their support. This win is for all of you! Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey.”

She went on to anchor her 4x400m Ranadi clocked a time of 58.72 seconds.

Swami Vivekandar College came second and Tuva of Natabua High School finished third.
