The FijiFirst administration will be remembered as “an abnormal government that specialises in giving away goodies close to the general elections”.
The People’s Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka made the claim during a rally in Nasinu last Saturday that was attended by supporters from across the country and provisional candidates.
He claimed that would be the legacy Government was going to leave behind when they were “booted out” after the 2022 General Election.
“This abnormal Government specialises in giving away goodies such farm equipment, boats, tractors and so on, but only when we are approaching elections and they are known for this,” the former prime minister said.
“But according to them distributing these were their official duty and therefore it’s OK.”
Mr Rabuka claimed it was obvious the FijiFirst Government was trying to buy votes.
“We think they are trying to buy votes, they think that you and I are fools.
“You know why there is such a flood of giveaways – they are trying to buy votes.
“But let me tell them this on your behalf – we are not going to be fooled anymore.”
