I refer to the letter written by Suresh Chand of Nadi (F/T 30/12/16) on the above subject.
While I agree with some of his views, I wish to add up more in respect of this daily newspaper.
The Fiji Times is a daily English language newspaper published in Suva. Fiji. Established in Levuka on September 4, 1869, by George Littleton Griffiths 1844 Woolwich, England, 1908 Suva, Fiji. It is Fiji’s oldest newspaper and still operating.
The Fiji Times claims to be the first newspaper published in the world everyday.
While many publication of newspapers came later on, The Fiji Times stood bold and firm and is still operating successfully.
During the present time, almost everywhere in the world people read The Fiji Times. Some read through online while many read by purchasing a copy of it.
The Fiji Times indeed has been doing a very remarkable job.
The hardworking and efficient staff always bring about fresh news and articles that most of us read and enjoy sitting down in the comfort of our homes and offices.
I am an ardent reader of this newspaper. I read the paper from A to Z. While back home, I usually go about buying a copy of the paper. Currently being abroad I read through online.
One of the important things I have come across this paper is about Fred Wesley.
In the editorial comments, this highly qualified and vastly experienced person brings about many issues that helps me understand and improve my skills and knowledge.
With great hope, I believe that The Fiji Times and its staff will continue bringing fresh news and articles during many more years to come.
I also wish to thank Wesley for his dedication and effort.
He is a person of determination.
He knows what is best and not good to be published in his editorial section and the paper.
Lastly, I appreciate the job of all the staff at this organisation.
I do understand that at times, the staff face difficulty in their research to compile reports, but they are doing a splendid job.
Thank you so much. The Fiji Times is a shining and first newspaper published in this world
