THE draft Police Bill 2020 will be reviewed and brought back for public consultation, says Defence Minister Inia Seruiratu.
He also said the revised document would be “good for investor confidence in the long term”.
“So that is why it is essential for us to get this sorted and move on with the rest of the processes,” Mr Seruiratu said.
“We need this to be done as a developing country.”
Mr Seruiratu said once the proposed legislation was revised, it would be taken around for public discussion.
“That is why we need to go through the consultations because we need to look at the areas that need to be addressed.
“What shapes the criminal landscape and the global security environment, these are the things that will dictate what goes into it, a good deal which will go through the process.”
