POST Fiji has advised its customers of two fake promotions under its name that are being circulated through social media.

The company has clarified that it is not carrying out those promotions and warns customers not to participate in it.

“One of the promotions is asking customers to select an icon and then submit a $5 payment in order to receive a Samsung Smartphone,” Post Fiji team leader Marketing Joseph Mataika said in a statement.

“The other is a notification informing customers that they have won a promotion prize and a parcel is awaiting collection at their nearest Post Office with a $5 payment required.

“Customers are advised that both promotions are fake and they should take every precautionary step not to be duped when receiving these promotional messages on their mobile phones.”

Post Fiji has advised customers to refrain from responding or participating in those hoax competitions.

Mr Mataika said the company was now liaising closely with the Fiji Police Cyber Crime Unit and also with Facebook to try and shut down the administering of the fake online promotions.
