THE 2026 Fiji Police Wives Association Annual Tournament has brought together 46 teams in Suva, with participants from across the seven divisions of the Fiji Police Force competing in two days of volleyball and netball at the National Netball Centre.
The tournament, which began yesterday and concludes today, features 38 volleyball teams and eight netball teams under the theme “Breaking the Cycle; Healing Fiji, Supporting Our Protectors.”
Hosted this year by the Police Headquarters Division, the annual tournament is one of the Fiji Police Wives Association’s biggest events, providing an opportunity for police wives from different stations around the country to reconnect while competing in a spirit of friendship and teamwork.
Association president Iva Driu said the tournament is held every year and rotates between divisions, with the hosting division welcoming participants from across Fiji.
“This is an annual tournament that brings the entire Fiji Police Wives family together every year,” Driu said.
“In addition to the games, we also gather for church service and visit families in need within the host division.”
The competition has produced exciting matches throughout the opening day, with teams battling for a place in today’s volleyball and netball finals.
Defending volleyball champions Southern Division and reigning netball champions Police Mobile entered the tournament among the leading contenders, but every division has embraced the challenge for this year’s titles.
Driu said the event is about more than winning trophies, highlighting the importance of supporting the families who stand behind Fiji’s police officers.
“We dedicate this tournament to our families and to our husbands, who have supported us and given us the opportunity to come together,” she said.
The tournament concludes today with the championship matches before an evening awards ceremony recognises the winning teams, outstanding players and divisional performances.
