Nasinu Rugby Football Union (NRFU) president Paula Biu is urging rugby fans to come out in large numbers this Saturday to support local grassroot rugby.

“This Saturday we’ll be staging our grand finale of the Ram Sami 15s competition and it will be the Police rugby team against the FMF Tacirua rugby team,” he said.

Biu said the prize money was made possible by the kind donation from major sponsor Ram Sami and Sons Fiji Ltd who recently handed over a $7000 cheque.

“We’d like to thank Ram Sami for their kind support to the union over the last six years,” he said.

“With the $7000 partial sponsorship in this financial year, $5000 will go towards the top eight teams that reached the knockout stages.

“So the four losing quarterfinalists, the two losing semifinalists also the finalist teams will get something.

“This was part of the agreement with our sponsors because we always want to give back something to the club for their commitment to the union.

“So if you don’t have anything to do this Saturday please come around and support the two teams.”

The finals will be played at the Nasova grounds, Nasese at 12 noon.
