Assistant Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Jovesa Vocea says government officials have been notified by the Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to consider visiting the Western Division.
Officiating at the commissioning of the Vunamoli foot crossing bridge in Nadi, Mr Vocea said remote areas in the division were usually neglected.
“It has been relayed by the Prime Minister that we government officials should also consider going to the Western Division,” he said.
“The Prime Minister was here last week. We had a church service at Namoli Village on Sunday.
“He has gone back while we are still here, and there are some ministers who are also in the Western Division.
“It has been told to us that we should also make it a priority to visit the division, especially the remote areas.
“We know that most developments have been taking place in areas which are easily accessible and those in areas that are hard to reach have been left out. “Especially those small villages like for you living in Vunamoli.”
