People’s Alliance Party posts $214k extra

THE People’s Alliance Party recorded a cash excess of $214,377 in the 2023 financial year compared with $21,588 in 2022, according to financial statements filed with the Fijian Elections Office.

The party recorded an income of $613,722 and expenses of $214, 377.

Of the $613,722, the party has listed $451,250 as government grant, $57,590 as donations, $65,470 as fundraising proceeds and $17,488 as merchandise sales.

Its highest expense of $198,605 was for secretariat support allowances, $44,844 was for catering, equipment and vehicle hire. Listed as community assistance and donations is $9553.

The party has listed receiving $57,590 in donations in 2023 compared to $568,383 in 2022.

In 2023, donations were received from Australia ($2280), Fiji ($43,201 and the United Kingdom ($11,974).

The financial accounts show People’s Alliance Party has $224,070 in cash, of which $17,692 was with one BSP Suva account and $205,203 in a second BSP account.

The party’s management board was paid $38,492 in allowances in 2023 compared to $69,494 in 2022.
