About 54 players were chosen for the Fiji Pearls extended squad for their first off-season training session last Saturday.

Head coach Una Rokoura will be selecting top players from the 2024 FinanceHub Super League and Netball Fiji’s affiliated districts club competition.

The players underwent strength tests at the Fiji Rugby HPU Gym before moving to the USP Gymnasium for a fitness yoyo test.

Rokoura stated that this marks the beginning of the Pearls’ off-season preparation campaign.

“This is the first phase of our off-season preparation, we just wanted to bring everyone in to test their fitness after a long netball season,” said Rokoura.

“We wanted to see everyone’s level of strength and fitness before we commence with our five weeks training leading up to the PacificAus Sport series next year.”

The extended squad will continue their preparation in the next five weeks and team management will also continue with their selection process.
