Pacific Custom Sportswear (PCS) has recommitted to be the official team wear supplier for the Kaiviti Silktails for another 12 months.

The Silktails which is made up of elite home grown Fijian talent participates in New South Wales Rugby League’s Ron Massey Cup.

Unfortunately the 2021 RMC was cancelled after round 15 in June because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a press statement, PCS general manager Ben Tooker said the company wanted to remain a part of the club’s ongoing story.

Tooker said they were excited to extend the partnership with the Silktails into the 2022 season as the official team wear supplier continuing their support.

Silktails chief executive officer Stephen Driscoll thanked PCS for their belief in the club. Driscoll said the company had been with them from the start, right back to the bid stage of the Silktails project.

“We stuck solid through the most trying circumstances including two season cancellations due to COVID-19,” he said.

“Despite other clothing manufacturers showing an interest in the team, the Silktails board made its decision to remain with PCS.

“Sometimes you can be a bit ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ when making decisions on commercial deals.

“In the end the Silktails board decided to reward PCS for the loyalty they have shown to our footy club.

“We believe that you can’t put a figure on that and we are really excited to have them back on board.”

The Kaiviti Silktails are in the process of finalising other sponsorship agreements as well as its pre-season fixtures to be held on the Gold Coast in February. Driscoll said this had ensured that the PCS gear would be visible to the public during this period.

“With so many exciting announcements to be made over the next month the 2022 Silktails strip will feature prominently through all of these announcements,” he said.

“So we look forward to working closely with PCS managing director Manny Artango and Ben during this period.”
