PACIFIC Harbour’s Pearl Resort and Spa hosted a weekend of classical music in collaboration with the Fiji Cancer Society, bringing together music lovers for the Opera Under the Stars Gala.

The event featured Fijian tenor Justin Hicks alongside Brisbane-based Australian singers Liam Jackson and Emma Nightingale, who made their international debut in Fiji.

Jackson said he was honoured to be part of the gala, which supported the Fiji Cancer Society’s work and held personal significance as a tribute to his sister, who had cancer.

Both Australian performers expressed their honour at making their international debut in Fiji, sharing their talent with local audiences while supporting a cause close to many hearts.

The event also featured artist, educator and cancer survivor Mark Waller, who spoke about how art helped him cope with his cancer journey.

Mr Waller shared his experience of the healing power of the arts and encouraged people to find something meaningful and productive to do while navigating life’s challenges, including illness.

Guests enjoyed an evening of classical music while contributing to support services for cancer patients, with funds raised from the event going towards the Fiji Cancer Society’s patient support services.
